Missing him

As her hands pressed harder against the glass of large window, she kept watching the empty roads on a Sunday morning. It was 4:00 am and her sleep driven eyes weren’t blinking a bit. She couldn’t sleep the complete night. His thoughts didn’t let her. He was missing since the whole day.

She turned supporting her back on the adjacent wall, and her eyes fell on those neatly kept white sheets and pillows on bed. Her tired muscles urged for rest.

She walked slowly to reach there. Mid way her mind dejected to relax and she picked her phone kept on table beside the bed. Her fingers quickly dialed his number again.

His number was unreachable throughout night, every time she tried calling him. But this time it did ring a bell.

Her heart beat increased with every ring. The call ended unanswered, leaving her in dismay.

Before her mind, it was her heart to react. Her tears rolled down on her pale cheeks and she went down on her knees. She curled up her body sitting next to her bed on floor.

In her silent room, she could only hear her sobs. They were loud enough for her fearful state of mind.

Her hands reached her bed sheets and she pulled them closer to her skin, trying to hide her face into them. Her sobs were still loud to be heard.

Before her heart, it was her mind to take up the decision. She dozed off.

“Naina” His voice whispered her name possessively. Her lips reflexively curved to smile a bit.

Her eyes shifted to gaze into his and his eyes stared her beautiful smile.

Breaking their stance, he pulled her up to stand still.

“What?” she asked while faking her anger.

“Good morning!” He replied as he took her into his arms. She smiled a little more. He kept adorning her smile yet again.

They lay down on bed together. They pulled each other closer.

Her anger disappeared. His smile appeared.

Her body leaned more into him and she could hear him inhale softly.

She rubbed her nose on his neck as he hugged her tighter. His fingers moved into her hairs.

Her lips kissed his throat and she could hear him exhale deep.

She repeated her moves and his breathing turned harder. She blushed a bit.

She trailed down to his chest and felt his hand trace up on the sides of her stomach. She blushed more.

She closed her eyes and kissed him. He smirked and tickled her. They both laughed.

“Where were you?” She questioned trying to resist his laugh.

He remained quiet. She opened her eyes and looked up.

Her eyes scanned the silent wall, the empty bed and lonely room.

“Were you missing me?” she recalled his counter question. “Why would I miss you?” And she remembered her respond.

She rubbed her hand against the smooth silk sheets of bed.

“I don’t miss you. I miss your touch. “She had added teasingly. He had laughed more.

Her eyes shed tears and she hugged herself more. She heard herself crying a lot more.

“Still missing my touch!?” she heard a clear voice.

She turned swiftly to the direction of voice. It was his voice. He stood there.

Her eyes knew it was him. Her heart took few seconds to believe.

She still cried as he came closer and pulled her into hug, a tight one.

“I missed you!” she exclaimed.

He rubbed his hand on her back and her sobs trying to settle down in his warmth.

Her phone buzzed and mechanically she picked to keep it aside.

Her arms hugged her pillow tightly. “I missed you so much.” She said louder.

The screen displayed his number and the call was missed before she could read his name.

Never leave to live alone

I miss you; she left the text message on his number. Smilingly yet sadly she continued to fix her bed. It was 9:30 pm, quite early for her to doze off but the chilled weather outside made her feel sick and the darkness made her realize her tiredness, after a long heck day. Even she couldn’t miss her flight the next day; she had to wake up on time.
She slipped into her blanket and switched on one of her favorite song on loop. As she started to sink into music and felt soothing, her phone rang. She turned to see his picture flashing on her mobile’s screen.
She was amazed, as it was rare for him calling at this hour. She swiped the green button on her touch screen to hear the voice; she had been urging to listen.
“Left to the main mall street is the entrance to your street, right?” His questioning voice appeared.
“Yeah… But why are you asking so?” she questioned back confusingly.
“For you are missing me and I am here to meet you.” He stated deeply in his hoarse voice.
She was shocked, would be an understatement. She hadn’t expected him to come over her house to meet her.
“But you were out of town, isn’t?” she said thoughtful.
Before she could get any response, the door bell rang. Her heart alarmed her.
“Open the door” he answered.
She mechanically ran towards the entrance.
“Hi” he spoke with a wide smile on his lips.
She couldn’t utter a word.
“Oh, you were all set to sleep already it seems.” He mentioned as he saw her standing looking surprised, wearing her night top and pyjamas.
“Hmm…” She couldn’t manage to speak, feeling out of words in confused state of mind.
He looked direct into her eyes. They were staring back.
Pretty! His mind spoke in his thoughts, as he admired her.
She stood silent for few minutes, only until she realized he was there, in real.
“But you were out of town?” she repeated her question.
“Yeah, but something urgent came up so I was way back” he softly spoke not breaking the eye contact.
“Can I get a glass of water?” he asked. She nodded.
I missed you too, she heard him as she turned. He walked to face her front.
“I… I simply said that teasingly, didn’t really meant that.” She mocked with her cutest smile.
She moved forward only to be pulled back by him.
“I won’t let you go”
She glanced at him.
“But you know I had to leave” she replied back.
“Why is it so necessary?” His brows widened, as waited for a response.
“For we are not supposed to walk together on the path of our lives, we both have different dreams, Arun.” Her voice went low.
He moved a little closer to her.
“Why can’t we choose one similar path?” He demanded.
“Only if you had loved me” She broke the glance.
“I do, you know that.” He remarked.
“I never knew that” she smiled artificial.
“You know it now” he stated. “I love you!”
She looked up to gaze at him.
“But…” she hesitated.
“But you want to leave me right?” he said plainly, his tone harsher.
She felt him hurt.
“I need to bring a glass of water for you.” she stepped aside to walk off.
“You still want to go?” he enquired.
“Love doesn’t bind us. I want you to walk on your dreamt path. I want you to reach heights, those heights from which I have fallen off. I can’t walk along. I am injured.” She explained uncertain and tearful, her voice difficult.
His hand rose to touch her cheeks delicately.
“My dreams can’t be lived without you. And I won’t let anything harm you.”
He took hold of her face in his palms. She opened her mouth to utter words, but his finger stopped her lips mid way, for he didn’t want to hear those words.
“I want to love you enough to heal your injuries.”
A tear dropped from her eyes to fell on his skin.
“Why you want to love me so much? She enquired.
He shrugged adorably. Her lips curved to smile.
They both went silent. He waited to know her decision- a final one.
“I love you too, since forever!” her eyes had a glint of happiness.
A smile slipped onto his lips. But before blush could creep over her cheeks, he pulled her into arms, hugging her tightly.
“I would never let you go.” He vowed.
“I am always there, I needn’t leave.” She said assuring in her confirmed tone. They both went silent again.
“Can I…” he paused.
Her body stiffened.
“Can I get a glass of water?” he said mischievously.
“No! I don’t want leave your arms.” She spoke abruptly. They both laughed.

Her friend

Hey!

Recently there is been a lot of things going on in my life but nothing much fascinating to be shared over here. It’s the usual mess which keeps us engaged in our lives. But for a change I thought to write something, with the thought maybe it could at least keep up the hope, that I would never end my habit of writing.

**********

The boy had randomly one day crossed her path. She went unnoticed.  They crossed each other path the same way for long time and it continued to remain unnoticed on her part until the day boy had stopped before her to smile politely and she couldn’t help but notice him. That gesture had brought a twinkle in her eyes and she smiled back.

Few days later, he sat next to her, though the silence remained to exist. Their eyes had shared that sweet little glint of happiness. In next another few days the girl was seen laughing out loudly at one of his talks, as he narrated one of his fun stories.

“You are amazing story teller” she spoke to him. She found a new joy in his presence.

The girl felt with passing time, she could trust him.

“Are you sure? He fake a lot, he himself said it” she recollected in her thoughts. But somewhere down in her heart she knew the guy won’t harm her in any way.  She didn’t know when, how and why he started to become a part of her daily routine.

She felt delighted when he proved her belief on him right by standing out there; to help her in little things, to protect her, to make her smile.

“Will you be my friend?” she questioned him and her lips curved totally at his statement in response.

“Ofcourse we are friends!” her eyes shined listening his words. She was glad she had him as his new friend.

They shook hands and the bonding grew up as the time went on. But they were not aware of passing time, as they were busy sharing lots of talks, playing pranks together, many smiles and cries.

“Oh! That was ultimate fun.” He spoke aloud laughing uncontrollably. She looked at him and wished their sweet friendship continues to remain wonderful.

Then someday he spelled out her fear, he wanted to move on and go far away. She never realised it would hurt her so much.

They didn’t bid bye as he never gave any chance.

She knew she would miss him. But amazingly, she didn’t know he would miss her the same way she did.

“Come’ on I mean it, I do miss you dear.” She smiled feeling relieved as she read those words, he had texted her.

Again he had brought a smile to her, similar to the very first one. Another time they shook hands but this time it was different… She still had him with her though distance far from her place, her life.
